The services below range from highly affordable “idea screening” services, which help creatives prioritise certain ideas over others, to our most popular booking (Detailed Development Notes), which provides an incredibly high level of detail and analysis. Our 15 script analysis, script editing and script doctoring services…
1. Project Screening Service – £29.99
“Should I spend 6…12…18 months of my life developing this project?” is a question which haunts many screenwriters, who invariably have more ideas for films & TV shows than they do man-hours to develop them. “The premise is inherently flawed” is an equally familiar malaise from the other side of the fence, in the offices of development executives and agents, who are often baffled by writers’ project choices. This affordable service aims to help screenwriters channel their energies into the right projects, rather than writing themselves to a dead end. Writers submit a 25-word logline and a 1-page synopsis (including all pertinent story beats), and then receive a concise (up to 100 words) verdict assessing whether the basic story merits the vast amount of energy and time creating a script requires. We also offer a bulk booking discount so that you can submit a series of synopses and we can advise you which are most deserving of your time and energy. Please contact us about this discount.
2. Logline Selection Service – £39.99
Similar to the bulk Project Screening service above, here writers submit 10 loglines (without synopses), and Industrial Scripts will put them in order of excellence, encouraging writers to channel their efforts into promising ideas rather than, as above, wasting time and energy writing themselves to a dead end. This service also includes an overview (up to 250 words) on why particular scripts merit more attention than others.
3. Detailed Project Screening Service – £39.99
Similar to Service 1 above, this report provides more detailed feedback (up to 400 words), on a more extensive pitch (up to 2 pages), but the basic idea remains the same – to help the screenwriter separate the wheat from the chaff at an early stage.
4. Telephone Report – £89.99
With this service, we read your feature script in full and then call you to deliver headline comments on your script. Also available as a same day service for writers wanting immediate script analysis, this offers a highly affordable way to receive feedback on your script. Please note that due to the low cost of this service call-times do not extend beyond 30 minutes, and the onus rests with the screenwriter to prepare specific questions or queries for the script editor in advance. 5. Detailed Development Notes on Shorts – £64.99
Similar to our Detailed Development Notes service (see below), this report delivers very focused, precise script analysis over 2 pages on how to improve your short script (up to 20 pages).
6. Treatment Analysis – £79.99
This report features an in-depth (up to 3 page) analysis of your treatment (no more than 10 pages), and particularly focuses on character and structure, helping you to eliminate potential pitfalls in your script’s foundations before the writing process has fully begun.
7. Script Proofing & Polishing Service – from £99.99
Scripts that are poorly presented, either in terms of their formatting, their spelling or their grammar immediately put the writer at a disadvantage, and whilst it’s true that a script won’t be rejected purely on the basis of its presentation, it can often be a telling contributory factor. With this service we will proof-read your script and amend it via email, before sending it back to in a far more polished, industry-accepted condition. Please note due to the variable volume of work per individual submission we require you to email us and attach your script so we can gauge the amount of work required and can provide you with a quote.
8. Stageplay Analysis – £124.99
This report consists of 3+ pages of notes and feedback to help the writer move on to the next draft of his or her stageplay.
9. TV Script Analysis – £99.99*
Similar to our Coverage Report service (see below), this analysis (of scripts up to 60 pages) consists of 3+ pages of notes and feedback to help the writer move on to the next draft of his or her TV project. If writers or producers wish to submit other TV materials (such as a series outline or bible), then this fee is by negotiation. Please contact us with your requirements.
10. Film Coverage Script Report – £124.99*
2nd only to our Detailed Development Notes in popularity, this report on feature-length scripts consists of 3+ pages of notes and script analysis to help the writer move on to his or her next draft. This service is probably most suited to writers either in the very early stages of development (say at 1st draft stage) or nearer the end of the development process, when notes to help “tweak” the script are required, rather than offering substantial changes.
11. Film Dry-Run Script Report – £124.99*
This report mirrors precisely the process involved when your script is submitted to one of the major film companies in the UK. Your script will be assessed exactly in the same way as scripts sent to us from Paramount Pictures, or BBC Films, or one of the other top companies. The report consists of a 1-page synopsis, and a page of comments on the script, and its writer. The report also contains a check box common in the report templates of top companies where the script’s predicted success or failure in various key areas is assessed. The tone and style of this report is not specifically tailored towards improving future drafts, and instead offers writers an acid test service, to gauge whether their script is ready to be submitted for real.
12. Detailed Development Notes – £269.99*
Our most popular service, Detailed Development Notes delivers an extremely detailed, almost forensic analysis of feature films script, together with extensive suggestions on how to improve the next draft. These reports run to at least 8 pages (and are usually longer), and the service often includes a FREE bonus 10-minute phone call** with your script editor, offering the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
13. Script Editing – £ Fee by negotiation*
Our Script Editing service offers writers, producers and directors the opportunity to work 1-on-1 with an experienced industry script editor, who will discuss your project in very specific detail, offer a sounding board for new ideas or directions the project may take, and help guide and steer your script. This service is also offered by phone and email, and writers are encouraged to book several sessions spread out, in order to implement changes and solutions the script editor offers. 14. Detailed Book Analysis – £399.99*
Are you an author wondering if your book has TV or film potential? Are you a producer wondering whether the book you’re thinking of optioning has potential as a feature film? Or are you a screenwriter interested in adapting a book, but are looking for a second opinion on the book’s viability as a movie? If so this service is for you, and entails notes stretching to 8 pages+ on all aspects of the book, its potential as a film, and possible approaches to the material. Please note that if the book is more than 300 pages long then the price of this service increases by negotiation. Please contact us if your book is over 300 pages.
15. Script Doctoring / Re-Write Services – £ by negotiation
Through our resident Script Doctors – THE KING’S SPEECH Creative Editor Aaron Anderson and THE IRON LADY Story Editor Jon Croker – we offer writers, producers and directors the opportunity to have their project re-written, doctored, polished, re-structured and significantly improved according to their requirements. Industrial Scripts Development Services – Key Facts
- We guarantee to deliver all script reports and feedback within 21 days, although we’ll typically send your report sooner – within 1 week to 10 days. Regretfully due to ever-shifting workloads, we are unable to be more specific than this. We guarantee to deliver your report within 21 days.
- For the same reason, due to our in-demand consultants’ varying workloads, clients are unable to specifically request an individual Industrial Scripts consultant and indeed we do not recommend this approach. Ultimately if your project is to be financed and made, it will be sent to a vast range of industry personel, and the writer will have no control over this process at all. So to try and control it from the outset is futile – a good script is a good script and needs to impress a wide variety of people to get ahead in the industry.
- Prices are all-inclusive – there are no hidden, add-on fees, and we do not charge VAT.
- We accept projects only in PDF form and only by email.
- We offer clients a range of fast-turnaround options, including: one week, weekend, overnight and even same day feedback. Please contact us by emailing info@industrialscripts.co.uk with details of your specific requirements.
- We charge extra fees for projects whose page lengths exceed the limits stated below:
- Logline – 25 word pitch for a film or TV series.
- Short Script – screenplay for a short film under 20p.
- Teleplay – screenplay for a TV episode under 60p.
- Stageplay – script for a play under 100p.
- Treatment – extended film synopsis under 10p.
- Feature Film Script – screenplay for a film under 120p.
- Book – literary work under 300p.
Please note that scripts which drift over the page lengths listed above are subject to an extra £1.00 fee per page they run over (so an 134 page feature script assessed according to our “Dry Run Service” would cost £138.99). - The report page lengths we specify (ie. a Film Coverage Report delivers 3+ pages of notes and feedback) is the minimum you will receive – any additional pages of feedback you receive should be viewed as a welcome bonus but should not be expected on every report, nor can be guaranteed. The report lengths we specify represent the minimum we guarantee.

We accept material BY EMAIL ONLY IN ADOBE PDF form – please ensure that you complete both stages below when submitting your project for feedback.
1. Book your feedback service through our ScriptStore using the secure individual PayPal links above (we also accept payment by BACS online bank transfer, email us for the details), or contact us if you’d like to request a specific service not listed above.
2. You will receive a confirmation of payment via email shortly after your purchase. Please reply to this email with your project attached (as PDF), and your project title in CAPS in the subject line.
